Following the sell-out run in 2015, Les Enfants Terribles’ and ebp bring their Olivier award nominated Alice’s Adventures Underground back to The Vaults under Waterloo station.
Tumble down the rabbit hole and make a series of choices in a theatrical adventure like no other, with more to explore than ever before!
Wonderland is located at The Vaults, which is nearest to the underground station in Waterloo, accessible on the Jubilee, Northern or Bakerloo tube lines. Alternatively the nearest bus stop is Baylis Road Lower Marsh, which is on the route of bus numbers 59, 76 and 341.
Directions from Waterloo Station:
Exit Waterloo Station via the exit onto Waterloo Road (Jubilee Line Underground exit); on exiting turn immediately right to walk along Waterloo Road as if you were heading towards the Old Vic Theatre at the traffic lights at the junction of Waterloo Road and Baylis Road. At the traffic lights turn right and continue along Baylis Road. Shortly you will come to a zebra-crossing which will take you across a road to your right which leads back to Waterloo Station where the Taxis drop people off, once you have crossed over the zebra-crossing continue to carry on in the same direction as before for a few more paces, shortly you will need to turn slightly to your right to walk down Lower Marsh. Lower Marsh is a semi pedestrianized high street with shops and bars. Continue along Lower Marsh until you pass Greggs Bakers on your right. Immediately turn right at Greggs into Launcelot Street. You will find the entrance to the venue through a large green double gate down on the left hand side where Security will ask to see your tickets.
It takes between 5 and 10 minutes to walk to the Launcelot street entrance from Waterloo station. Once you’ve passed through the gate, the Wonderland bar is immediately to your right where you’ll be able to find everything you need before the show.
The Wonderland bar is in a long, oblong shaped room and you will enter at the bottom, with accessible toilets on your right hand side. On the left, opposite the toilets, is where you will need to queue to enter the show, when your time slot is called. After passing through a short corridor, the Box Office is to your right. You’ll need to show your tickets and will be given a stamp on your hand, which corresponds with the timeslot of the performance you’ll be seeing. The Box Office staff will let you know that all belongings need to be stored in the cloakroom, which is at the far end of the Wonderland bar, beyond the forest seating area. If you require any assistance getting to the cloakroom, let the front of house team know and they will be able to assist you and your companion in finding it.
Next to the Box Office is the Wonderland Emporium, where you can buy programmes, t-shirts and other merchandise from the show. Pic and mix will also be available for you to take into the show. The bar runs along the left side of the room and you’ll be able to buy drinks there before and after the performance. You can also pre-order in show drinks, which can be collected at the Mad Hatters tea party. Finally, there is food available in the Wonderland bar, provided by Saucy Chip. They are in the kiosk in the middle of the right hand side of the room and have hot food available all evening.
Enjoy exploring the Wonderland bar and all it has to offer. Make sure you and your companion listen out for your performance time slot to be called and, when it is called, make your way back to the entrance and join the queue.
