Access Information

By car 

Stratford-upon-Avon is a short drive from Junction 15 of the M40, giving good access to the M42, M5, M6 and M25. Our postcode is CV37 6BB.

Car parking

There is a large choice of fee-charging car parks in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Accessible parking

There are 7 bays on Waterside directly outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and 10 bays on Chapel Lane, the road opposite the Swan Theatre. These spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

Southern Lane also has on-road parking for blue badge holders; the parking bays at the side and rear of The Other Place (formerly The Courtyard Theatre) are available. There is a car drop off point directly outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and a coach drop off point just past the Swan Theatre.

Park and Ride
Stratford’s Park and Ride  service runs daily from 7.30am, Mondays to Saturdays. The last Park and Ride bus leaves Bridge Street at 7.05pm. Show your RSC theatre tickets or email confirmation for a discounted Maxi Family Ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children) – only £2 (all day).

By train
You can travel directly to Stratford-upon-Avon train station from  Snow Hill or Moor Street stations.
Last train back to Birmingham, Monday – Friday at 11.30pm

Trains from London travel from Marylebone station via Banbury, Leamington Spa and Warwick. The last train back to London, Monday – Friday, is at 11.15 pm.

Tickets and booking

Tickets for disabled people cost £16  – whenever you visit or wherever you choose to sit. If you require the services of a companion, their ticket will also be £16.

You can book tickets by:

  • Calling our Access booking line on 01789 403436
  • In person at the Box Office
  • Emailing us a form with your requirements. To reach this form, go to the performance you wish to come to and select the form at the bottom of the page as you buy your tickets.

Advance booking is recommended if wheelchair accessible seats are required due to limited availability.

Accessible toilets

There are accessible toilets on the ground floor . Our toilets do not contain hoist systems.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs can be taken into the auditorium, but please tell the Box Office when booking your seat that you are bringing your dog. Alternatively you can leave your dog with a member of staff in the foyer but again please let us know.

Access at every show

We have four seats available at every performance in the front row  stalls for people who are partially sighted or hard of hearing. Please ask the Box Office about the availability of these seats when booking your ticket.
