Audio-described tour of the once-in-a-generation exhibition Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms: Art, Word, War at the British Library.
You will explore beautifully decorated manuscripts, historically important charters, inscribed objects and golden treasures from the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. Marvel at original, handwritten documents, many of which are over 1,000 years old, and discover unique stories of survival and little-known facts about these fascinating items. The tour will provide an engaging and informative account of the history of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, and their deep connections with neighbours in the British Isles and across the European Continent.
This tour is suitable for blind and partially-sighted visitors. The tour will be delivered and audio-described by a member of the medieval manuscripts team who has contributed to the preparation of the exhibition over the past three years.
Please meet at the Information Desk in the Entrance Hall 15 minutes before the start time.
