Join VocalEyes and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for a guided tour of two exhibitions marking the centenary of the opening of Germany’s most famous art school. Beyond Bauhaus looks afresh at the moment Britain became modern, anchored in the brief period when three notable Bauhaus émigrés – Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and László Moholy-Nagy – lived and worked in the UK. The second exhibition focuses on the work of László Moholy-Nagy, one of the most innovative artists and thinkers of the first half of the twentieth century and Bauhaus school member.
Artist Sally Booth and RIBA staff will guide you through the exhibitions and the lead a workshop exploring the impact of the Bauhaus and the birth of Modernism in Britain. The workshop will also include a demonstration of 3D drawing pen technology, with a chance to try this for yourself. All materials will be provided and light refreshments will be available.
This event will take place at RIBA’s headquarters, 66 Portland Place, London – more information about travel to the building and general access can be found on the RIBA website.
