See the work of conservation and gain an insight into the techniques used to care for collections on a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Conservation studios. The Library has many treasures including The Magna Carta, Leonardo da Vinci’s notebook and the Beatle’s lyrics.
Visit the Library’s purpose-built Conservation Studio where conservators work to preserve and protect items from the collections. This tour takes you behind the scenes for an insight into what’s involved in looking after books and other vulnerable items in the Library’s care. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, view objects close up and feel the materials and tools used in their work.
