Audio-described tour

Come and gain an insight into the work carried out behind the scenes to conserve one of the world’s most significant collections. In this audio-described tour, you will learn about some of the techniques used to care for the British Library’s collection. You will visit the British Library Conservation Centre, where you’ll be given an introduction to conservation, the building, and the responsibilities of the department. You’ll see the conservation studio and will have the opportunity to discuss their work with two or three conservators.

Please note this tour is not suitable for children under 12. Meet at the Information Desk just inside the British Library’s main entrance. The tour will last 90 minutes.
