I am Ashurbanipal king of the world, king of Assyria

Audio-described tour Handling session

A live audio-described tour and handling session for this new exhibition about King Ashurbanipal of Assyria. He described himself in inscriptions as ‘king of the world’, and his reign from the city of Nineveh (now in northern Iraq) marked the high point of the Assyrian empire, which stretched from the shores of the eastern Mediterranean to the mountains of western Iran.

This tour is co-delivered by VocalEyes audio describer Lonny Evans and exhibition curator Carine Harmand.

Large print descriptive guides and tactile drawings with braille labels, created by VocalEyes, will be utilised within the handling session, and available for the duration of the exhibition.

Tickets are limited and booking is essential.
