Audio described in-house.
Savour five photographs by Helen Levitt in this online session. The event will include live audio descriptions and discussion.
Considered part of the slow movement menu, slow looking is simply a way of slowing down as we take in the visual world using skills of observation and prolonged active looking. This online Slow Looking session invites participants to listen to audio descriptions of a selection of Helen Levitt’s photographs, each followed by discussion.
Audio descriptions are produced and read by Eleanor Margolies for The Photographers’ Gallery in conjunction with the exhibition Helen Levitt: In the Street
Event image: In this photo by Helen Levitt, a young girl crouches down besides a bright green sports car on a New York street. Water is filling the gutter and she appears to be looking down into the grate, as if trying to recover something lost. Behind her on the street are rubbish bins and a old blue Beetle car.
