Experience the impressive State Rooms of Buckingham Palace through audio description. The official London residence of The Queen is open to visitors for its annual summer season, until 1 October 2017. VocalEyes contributed to a new recorded audio descriptive guide, which will be available to visitors on site from 14 August. Explore the opulent spaces where the Royal Family conduct ceremonial occasions and receive guests. These include the Throne Room where The Queen will receive addresses on a Jubilee, and the Music Room where The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will entertain a visiting Head of State. Throughout the Palace, treasures from the extensive Royal Collections are on display including fine Sèvres porcelain, and masterpieces by Rubens and Rembrandt.
For 2017 a special exhibition Royal Gifts has been mounted, showcasing official gifts presented to The Queen by leaders across the world throughout her 65 year reign.
The audio descriptive guide (developed by ATS Heritage for the Royal Collection Trust) is free with admission, which is £13.00 for disabled visitors. Further details are available on the Royal Collection Trust website.
