Hall for Cornwall

Hall for Cornwall is situated on Back Quay in the centre of Truro – next to what was Woolworths, now Poundland.

If you are arriving by car there are two car parks nearby. Garras Wharf is an open car park next to Tesco. Access to Back Quay and Hall for Cornwall is via an underpass. Lemon Quay car park is a multi-storey car park diagonally opposite the Hall, behind Marks & Spencer. There are no parking areas on Back Quay and very limited street parking in Boscawen Street (on the other side of the building).

There are dropping off points on Back Quay or Boscawen Street but vehicles will have to be moved to appropriate car parks. Should you require assistance getting from your car to the theatre please let Box office know in advance and one of the stewards would be pleased to assist.

The Railway Station is about 20 minutes walk away.

The Bus Station is in Green Street which leads onto Back Quay and is only about 100 yards from Hall for Cornwall. For details of bus times call 0906 550 0000.

There is a Taxi rank by the War Memorial opposite the Hall’s entrance in Boscawen Street.

From the pavement, two sets double doors lead into the main foyer of the Hall. Please note that the central triple doors only open in the event of an emergency.

On the opposite side of the foyer, three more double doors give level access to the auditorium.

To the left of the foyer is the box office. You can pick your tickets up from here. There is a low level counter on the far right.

Headsets can be collected from The Reception desk, which is to the right of the foyer, at the end of the coffee shop counter. Braille and large print cast lists will also be available. On arrival please make yourself known to one of the stewards who will be pleased to help you should you require any assistance. All the stewards wear maroon waistcoats.

If you would like to listen to the introductory notes, you should collect your headset in good time to take your seat 15 minutes before the start of the performance.

To the left of the three double doors to the auditorium is a door leading to the theatre bar. This bar area actually runs around behind the auditorium, underneath the balcony.

There is a cloakroom at the far end of the bar and the gentlemen’s toilets are also located here. There is also a single toilet with disabled facilities.
Ladies toilets are to the left of the auditorium.

There is a lift on the ground floor for access to other levels of theatre. Please ask a steward to direct you.

The auditorium was refurbished in November 1997 and is a raked horse-shoe shape and seats approximately 1,000 people on two levels, stalls and balcony.

On both levels the seating is divided into three blocks. The aisles have steps.

Please note that this information has been supplied by the venue and although every effort has been made to check details, you may still have some queries. In this case, we would ask you to contact the theatre direct for clarification.
